Most AI Business Cases Measure Potential, Not Value
Most AI business cases begin with a large number. They take the cost of a function or the hours spent on a task, apply an assumed percentage improvement and call the result value. The arithmetic can be correct while the conclusion is wrong. That number measures an opportunity AI might influence, not how much can be captured, how long capture takes or what it costs to achieve. Exposure, uplift and realization must replace hours saved and addressable value.
