Why AI Vendors Need Accelerators as Much as Runtimes

Enterprise technology vendors have invested heavily in the infrastructure required to run AI. Processors, inference engines, model-serving platforms and runtimes have made AI faster, safer and easier to operate. Yet technical progress has not consistently translated into production adoption. A runtime answers an engineering question about whether a model can execute on a platform. It does not answer the customer's investment question about which decision will improve and what value that creates. Accelerators are the missing product layer that turns a technically possible capability into a commercially repeatable one.
